Happy Monday!
But is it?
I'd like nothing more than to crawl back into bed and maybe stay there for five more hours.
Or possibly longer.
Maybe not get out of bed until Tuesday.
At least until the magical cleaning elves come and do my dishes.
My kitchen is a DISASTER. Like, it's terrifying.
I can't even look at it without feeling this well of despair rise up inside me. I have work to do! And two little boys that want all my attention this morning. I don't have time for dishes.
Or this is what I tell myself when there is something I don't want to do.
Usually, I would say that the dished could wait. They're not really all that important.
Except that they are when every single one of them is dirty... And maybe that's a slight exaggeration... but not my much.
I blame the Superbowl.
And we didn't even have a party!
Here's the thing though. On a weekly basis, Zach does most of the main cooking. Sure, I swoop in twenty minutes before dinner's ready and balance out the meal with side dishes and vegetables. I also set the table, or enlist the children. But Zach handles all the main courses.
So when there's a game on (And there's always a game on, the man watches every single sport available. At times, when there's nothing else on, I've caught him watching bowling, ping pong and a couple times... pool.), especially an important game, I like to put out a nice little spread.
And cook enough food to feed legions of men.
Which is what I did last night. And then I got distracted with writing and Zach was into the game and by the time we emerged from our evening the kitchen was left waiting for us.
It's still waiting for us.
And now I'm going to have to bite the bullet and go to war. With the dishes.
Wish me luck! :)
In the meantime, THANK YOU to everyone who has bought and read The Relentless Warrior!!!! I am so thankful to all of you!!!!
You guys. Are just. Awesome.
Thank you!! And a huge thank you to those of you that have reviewed it, too!!! Those are what keep me in business so I just have to tell you how much I appreciate your honest words.
This is kind of the month of Rachel Higginson... so I hope you're prepared.
Love and Decay starts soon. Like REALLY soon. THIS FRIDAY soon!!!!!!! And then next Friday you'll get a Star-Crossed Novella!!!! And by the end of the month I'm truly hoping to have The Fall ready to publish!!!!!!
I also turn 30 this month.
I think I'm trying to counteract the inevitability of getting older with trying to shove as many accomplishments into one month as I can.
Don't worry, I'm sure it's healthy and you shouldn't be concerned. :)
I'm mostly kidding!!!
Ahem, mostly. :)
The final thing I wanted to leave you with is the link to my Redbubble store- which has all kinds of book-related merchandise available.
Last night on my author page I gave away some signed books and a Team Kiran t-shirt and a few of you asked if you could buy the t-shirt if you didn't win. Those aren't actually for sale... but in the Redbubble store you can find tons of Star-Crossed t-shirts, as well as ones from my other books too!!!!
I'm not huge into the "swag." As in... I have none to just give away. Not even bookmarks. Yikes, right??? But we are working on it. Even if I'm afraid to keep it at my house... The children are worse than puppies, I swear.
Anyway, I created the Redbubble store to makeup for my terrible ability to have my life together. Also, I have this serious issue with shipping things. Like, I think it's some kind of legitimate fear to go to the post office. But this way I'm not the one that has to send it to you.
So good news for you! Because that means you'll actually get it.
Anyway, I'll link it below. Go check it out!!! Find a cool t-shirt. And there are tons. Or a sticker. Or a poster!
My fave part of the store? You can actually pick out whatever kind of t-shirt you want. They even have hoodies and hooded-sweatshirts. So like, if you just wanted a plain t-shirt. They have that. But, let's say you wanted a fitted t-shirt with a v-neck? They have that too!!!
That's what I love.
And we've set it up with color suggestions that we think work, but the other cool thing is that you can pick your own colors if you want!
The store is really cool.
Go check it out and get yourself some Rachel Higginson Swag! And then if I ever get brave enough to do a real signing you can bring it and I'll sign it for you.
Right across the boobs.
Jk.
Rachel's Redbubble Store!!!!
