  7. I loved the Star-Crossed series. I read Reckless Magic and I was hooked and had to read the rest of the series. I just bought and finished The Reluctant King two days ago. Very well written, and I fell in love with the characters right away. I homeschool my children and it is so hard to find a good book I can get my 13 year old intersted in. He is now almost through Reckless Magic, and he agrees with me, they should make your series into a movie or break each book down and make it into a TV Drama. I love reading books that play out in my head like I am watching it on screen. Best of Luck to you, can't wait to read more. I did read right, there is yet another book to the Star-Crossed series in the works? :-)

  12. P.S. The reason my sisters, friends, and I love this series is beacause it's clean. Please, please, please keep all your books that way. Other authors need to read your books to see how it's done. Falling in love, a kiss, or simple touch can rock a person to the core. LOVE YOUR BOOKS!

  13. I absolutely LOVE the star crossed series... I have told all my friends about it and they have fallen in love with the series. When the books were done, I was sad for a long time because I became so attached to the characters! I am reading Reluctant King right now, and I am so happy to have the characters back <3!

  16. I just wanted to say that I love, love, LOVE the star-crossed series. I just happened to stumble upon Reckless when I first got my Nook in March. I read all four in days. I was so sad the series was done ... then I found Reluctant King. I was so happy to have the characters back! I'm so glad you're writing these 3 books, too. I love your writing so much, I re-read those five books.

I am very impatiently waiting for Relentless Warrior to come out. In the meantime, I read The Rush. I also loved that story ... which didn't surprise me, you are so creative and talented. You have a way of telling the story and getting all the details just right so the reader feels they are in the story, bonding with the characters, experiencing their emotions. It's a amazing.

I do have one negative comment to say, though. And I really, REALLY hope you read this and
    (1) are not discouraged-because I plan to read every book you write in the future ... I am, and always will be, a fan of your writing; and (2) are able to address it.

So here it is: The Rush and Reluctant King seem to be missing something. I've thought long and hard about it and read some books by some of my other favorite artists, trying to discern the difference, and I figured it out. I'm just not a writer, like you, so it will be hard for me to explain. They seem lacking details/complexity/struggle ... I'm not sure how to describe it. I read a book this week that could have been over after the book was 1/3 of the way over ... I felt like if that book had been The Rush, then that would have been the end. I felt like Ivy and Ryder had more of a story. Also, where's the huge conflict that keeps the hero and the heroine apart? Most great romances have a part where there's some big fight or misunderstanding based on previous baggage and they either think the other one doesn't love them, or couldn't love them, or that they are not worthy of the other one, or that the other one is better without them, or they are separated by some unfair circumstance of life, or they have to overcome some great evil before they can be together, etc...

As much as Ryder saying and doing the perfect things when Ivy finally told him the truth made me fall in love with him that much more, I have to admit that I felt gipped when the book was over. I really, truly felt there should have been something they had to overcome to be together after he learned her secret. Like maybe he didn't react so well when she told him-maybe he thought she was evil and blackhearted, maybe he though she was going to use and hurt him, maybe he was disgusted with her past, or maybe Nix took her away and Ryder had to save her, or maybe Nix got someone to kidnap her sister and it looked like the only way to save her sister was to sacrifice herself and say goodbye to Ryder forever but at the last minute, Ryder swoops in with Exie and Sloane and saves the day ... or SOMETHING. Also, I crave more details of Ivy's secret life, more details like the tattoos, and the hidden meaning, how she decided to get them, what EXACTLY they mean to her, other secrets, etc ...

I really am not trying to tear you down. I am sharing this because I want your books to be the BEST BOOKS EVER, because I already feel the first 4 in the star-crossed series meet that mark. Although, now that I noticed that lacking in The Rush, I realized I had wanted more from the Reluctant King as well. I probably would have felt the same way about the first four in the star-crossed series, too, except that you had already published all four by the time I read the first one-I didn't have to wait. Also, since those are all a continuation of the same story, I felt that all four of them together were AMAZING. As in not alterable in any way. I'm guessing that the two following the Rush are going to be Exie and Sloane's stories. If they were more of Ivy and Ryder's story, I would be okay with The Rush ending how it did. But to know that we're never going to get that detail into Ivy and Ryder's worlds again, is disappointing, when there could have been so much more to experience with them. It felt like more of a short story, or a novella, than a novel. There is a certain amount of catharsis one experiences after reading a well-beloved book. And that catharsis is cleansing to the soul, and is brought about, I believe, by feeling yourself in the struggle with the characters. You change and grow, learn, hope, feel, are disappointed and frustrated, and are again made to rejoice right along with the character.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my thoughts. I hope to see many more great works from you! Thank you so much for being such a wonderful story-teller!

  19. I just read Love and Decay ... all 10 episodes that are currently out ... in 3 days. Wow. Wow is all I can say. I can't wait for more. Literally. I'm pretty sure the waiting is going to kill me. Okay, so not literally. But still.

Just curious: Do you read these comments? I was wondering what you thought about what I posted before in April (Lisa Broeker).

  20. I am about to finish the first Love and Decay book and just purchased the next episodes and was looking at the next episodes to purchase then I got confused when looking at the seasons because I have Love and Decay Volume One: Season 1 (Episodes 1-6) and Love and Decay Volume Two: Season 1 (Episodes 7-12) so then I don't need to order individual episodes from season one like Love and Decay Episode Twelve: Season 1 right? I can just start ordering Season 2 episodes. I have never read books by episodes like this please overlook my ignorance. LOL thank you!
