The Writing Dead

It's Monday!!!!

Did you guys have a good weekend???

I hope so!!!

We did! I actually got a surprising amount of work done. Which is unusual for us on the weekends. I try to give up writing completely on Sundays, but it's not always easy. And Saturdays are hit and miss, depending on what we have planned.

Somehow this weekend I got work done, cleaned the house AND we hung out with friends. I think somewhere along the way we entered an alternate reality, where I actually complete To Do lists and still make my children happy.

I doubt it will happen again any time soon.

Ah, such is life with little ones.

Or any ONES. Like husbands. They can be just as distracting. :)

Ok, so over the weekend I released a book and then I didn't say anything about it!!! Crazy, right???

Probably.

But then, people started buying it and reviewing it and then I started to think, Ok, if people find out about this and realize I was keeping it a secret... they're going to be pissed.

So I then announced it!! For you. :)

But then... I forgot to blog about it... Haha!!

It's just right now there is so much going on that sometimes I don't even know what to promote! For real, I feel like I have a million projects going on. I could easily tease one every single day.... and I don't know what takes priority.

Plus, I don't want to flood your news feed/twitter feed with ME!! BUY MY STUFF!! BUY MY STUFF!!

Ok, I kind of want to do that, but probably I shouldn't!!! There's also the fact that in the past I've been HORRIBLE at social media type endeavors.

Like. The. Worst.

I'm really, really, really trying to be better. But, I don't know if it's working or not. I just know that now I am attached to the computer/phone/Fire/Twitter/Blog/Facebook/YouTube all the time.

I'm Ok with it, it's fun!

And there are of course the moments in my life where I haven't looked at the Internet in 7 hours because of kid stuff.  Or husband stuff. Or friend stuff. Or Target stuff- because I can't get a signal in that store to save my life.

And I'm Ok with that too!

I'm desperately seeking a balance. And having a husband who both pushes me to do more while reminding me when I need to pull back really helps.

Speaking of Zach, let's get back to the book I just released!!!

Love and Decay!!!!

It's about, yep you guessed it, Zombies!!!!!

Oh, wait? You didn't guess that I was writing a secret novella series about Zombies???

Haha!! Me either.

I mean, I never had any intention to do this or write this or even publish novellas.

Really, and this is the complete truth, I thought I was incapable of writing a novella!

If we're being honest, I'm a little wordy when it comes to well.... words. And I tried to write a novella like a year ago. It was about Kiran during Fearless, in like his time away from Eden.

It sucked.

Even my editor, who loves everything Star-Crossed was like... uh... this is boring.

And I'm like I KNOW!!!

So I scrapped it.

Maybe one day. Maybe. We will see.

But Zach kept asking me to write a Zombie book. He loves Zombies, and he thinks the majority of the world's population does too.

So what happened was that he planted a seed, and then I couldn't get the idea out of my head and pretty soon I had 10,000 words written and a story line completely developed!!! I was like what???

Ok, let's just go with this.

Plus, it contains one of my most favorite first chapters ever!!

Have I ever told you about my obsession with first chapters??? They are my absolute favorite thing to write, to read, to be apart of, to remember, to whatever else you can think of. I love them!!!

Reckless. Hopeless. (Not Fearless... it's kind of boring, but necessary.). Endless. Starbright. The Rush. Striking. This secret project I'm co-writing that I can't talk about yet. And finally Love and Decay!!

All fave first chapters. But seriously, seriously, Love and Decay has a good one!! And just wait until you find out how the Zombie Infection broke out to begin with!!

Also a fave of mine.

Anyway, so Love and Decay is going to be a Novella Series that comes out every two weeks. So not this Friday, but the next one (July 26th). And each installment is going to be like 20k words or so.

I explain it like a punch of fiction. It's got my eight point story arc in it, but it just happens really, really fast. It's exciting, and romantic and disgusting all at the same time.

I mean, what more are you looking for in a story???

Maybe a longer story??

Lol!!

That's why I wasn't going to announce it until I had more installments out. But here we are, and I'm so excited to share it with you!!!

Yes, there are Zombies. But there's also a bunch of hot boys. A kick ass heroine. Endearing and hilarious best friend. And guns. Lots and lots of guns.

I'm going to give you some links and then I'll show you the cover and post the synopsis!!! I hope you guys check it out! It's a super fun read, but there's also some serious moments and some deep, invested characters that will grab your heart and refuse to let go!!

Zombies- as if that wasn’t enough to ruin any girl’s dream of a happily ever after.

Reagan said goodbye to love when she was forced to run her high school boyfriend over with her mom’s car just to keep him from eating her for dinner. Now, two years later, and in need of a serious shower, she’s just over the entire concept of a soul mate- or really, any kind of mate.

Well, mostly anyway. When she runs- literally- into a group of boys holed up in a relative utopia of peanut butter and bottled water, maybe all hope in the love department is not lost.

But at the end of the world, nothing can be simple. And with a horde of Zombies after her, Reagan is going to have to schedule falling in love between hunting and surviving. Hopefully she can last long enough to find out if true love can still exist when everything else has started to fall apart.

Love and Decay, Episode One, the first in a novella series in a Dystopian Romance about Zombies, the end of the world and finding someone to share it with.
This story takes place over multiple episodes, with a release date every two weeks. Approximately 20,000 words.
