As in freakin' Spice Burn!
As in I just rubbed my eye with the left over jalapeno spice burn on my fingers from my little Husker snacks and now I'm typing with one eye open and one eye shut soooo tight I can't really see out of either eye.
I'm an idiot. It gets me every time! Damn you spice burn. Damn you.
I do have to say, it was hopefully worth it. Thanks to my cousin Jen, I have this fantastic recipe for Homemade Jalapeno Poppers. And it's super easy.
The only thing is I really need gloves to do it. Well to handle jalapenos or hotter peppers in general. There's no way to keep them out of my pores and they stay there for... well.... Freakin' EVER!!
But they are delicious.
Here's the recipe in case you're a fellow Hot and Spicey Afficianado like us!
12 Jalapenos, with the ends cut off, sliced in half and seeded.
1 8 oz. Package of cream cheese.
1 Packet of Ranch Dressing Mix.
Turkey Bacon.
Mix the Ranch Dressing Mix and Cream Cheese together, fill the Halved Jalapenos and wrap a piece of Turkey Bacon around each piece. Bake in the oven at 400 Degrees for at least 15 minutes or until the level of crispiness you prefer. And done.
See? Super easy. And you would not BELIEVE how delicious they are.
Although I have to say again that they are spicey. Usually too spicey for myself, but lately the pregnancy cravings have been leading in the direction of Uber Spicy! Like so spicy I once found myself eyeing and kind of drooling over Zach's Blazin' Wings. And then I remembered even if it's the level of spiciness I want, I still like to be able to feel my face and not have insides made out of fire.
A friend last night said I must be making a Little Zach and I hope she's right. How cute would that be if the unborn child was even obsessed with spicy.
Maybe that's weird to you. After I typed it, it felt kind of weird to be thinking it. It must be these out of control emotions.
To say I'm unstable is such a drastic understatement, I don't even know how to explain it.
Try, I don't even know what to try. I'm emotional just thinking about it.....
This is like the perfect afternoon for me. I made some fun goodies for the game. Put the girls down for their naps. Snuggled up to Zach on the couch and now I'm enjoying a cup of super hot apple cider.
This is it. This is all I need.
Especially since tomorrow will be crazy! I still have to figure out how to give Stella an updo.
The girls are going as princesses and are pretty much the cutest things ever. Plus they love it. Big poofy skirts and I put all kinds of glittery make up on them. It's a dream come true.
They also kind of look like baby prostitutes.... But I guess I'll just keep an extra, extra, close eye on them!
